Antique rustic pine tall, long, shallow kitchen dresser base counter unit, with three drawers above three doors with an open pot board underneath. Probably originally made around 1900 though it looks like various parts of a larger piece have been modified into its present form. Old brass turn knobs on the doors; the drawers have cast iron cup handles in an oak leaf design (later additions, most likely). Condition is pretty good structurally: it's solid and sound; some rural repairs to the doors but they work fine, as do the drawers, despite some wear. Looks like there was woodworm damage to the lower back: the back legs have had new bottoms, and there's some areas with some old holes. We've treated it for good measure. Cosmetically there are lots of marks, dings, scratches and scuffs etc, due to a working life; generally pleasing to the eye as far as I'm concerned. The insides of the drawers and cupboards are quite used but acceptable enough. The right side of the top has no overhang; it probably was fitted against a wall. Moulding has been put round both ends, I think to conceal the join between the top drawer section and the rest of the piece. Also explains its unusual height. It's certainly one of a kind, great warm colour, very practical and not too deep. Dimensions: 163cm x 40cm x 111cm high
